Texans WR Kenny Stills Arrested on Felony Charge While Protesting Breonna Taylor Killing

Texans wide receiver Kenny Still was among 87 people arrested in Louisville, Kentucky while protesting the Breonna Taylor killing. Stills faces a felony charge of “intimidating a participant in the legal process.”

The protest march ended at the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron who demanded that the protesters be removed from his property. The protesters were reportedly arrested, according to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Lamont Washington, for “refusal to leave the property and attempting to influence the decision of the attorney general with their actions.”

Taylor was killed by Louisville Metro police on March 13 who were executing a no-knock search warrant amid a narcotics investigation. All officers involved in the shooting have been fired, but none have been criminally charged,which has sparked these protests demanding justice for Taylor.

Stills has been a leading supporter among NFL players of the Black Lives Matter movement and continues to kneel during the National Anthem before NFL games to protest racial injustice and police brutality. Stills has previously vowed to continue protesting even if it costs himself a place in the NFL,

“There is nothing you can offer me to get me to stop protesting. We can work toward a solution, but there’s no bargain for me to stop protesting,” Stills told the Undefeated in 2019. “I want to know you care about the issues that are affecting this country, like police brutality, social injustice and racism. If you really cared about these issues, Kap would be in the league.”

Stills is scheduled for an arraignment hearing Wednesday.
