Tennessee Vols Fans Call For Football Team To Bring Back Lane Kiffin As Head Coach

After the Tennessee Volunteers announced they were firing Jeremy Pruitt as their football coach today, many fans had a crazy idea. Bring back Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin was the coach in Knoxville for the 2009 season before he ditched the team for the USC job. ESPN analyst Chris Low thinks Tennessee would be foolish not to gauge the interest of Lane Kiffin.

“From a Tennessee stand point… why do you not call and make that pitch? I think you’d be foolish not to… he’s certainly with kicking the tires for,” Low Said.

Vols fans seem to have forgotten about Lane Kiffin leaving them high and dry, and have joined in on the thought of a Lane Kiffin reunion.

Yeah, I don’t think there’s any chance in the world that Lane Kiffin returns to Tennessee. It’s also a little funny to be calling for a guy to “come home” after he literally only spent a year there. Even Lane thinks the whole idea is hilarious.

Lane Kiffin took over the Ole Miss program prior to last season, and went 4-5 while winning their bowl game against Indiana.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lane Kiffin leave Ole Miss if he gets a better job, but Tennessee just isn’t it. Dream on Vols fans.
