Reggie Miller Roasts ‘Fair-Weather Fan’ Spike Lee For Leaving Knicks Game Early

Film-maker Spike Lee has turned himself into the poster fan for the New York Knicks. But on Wednesday night, he was under fire for not supporting his team all the way until the end.

In the waning moment of the Knicks being eliminated by the Atlanta Hawks, Lee appeared to leave the game early.

As he was leaving, Reggie Miller (who Lee famously taunted back in the day with the “choke” gesture) was on the call with TNT, and he had some things to say.

“Come on, man. That’s a fair-weather fan right there,” Miller said as Spike Lee was leaving the court. “If he’s supposed to be the No. 1 supporter of the Knicks you gotta stay here and take it like the guys on the floor.”

Spike Lee would actually later return to his seats to finish out the game.

It seems like Reggie Miller still holds a grudge against Spike Lee and the New York Knicks. With that being said, the Knicks should not hang their heads about their 2021 season.

Nobody expected the Knicks to compete this season, and Tom Thibodeau was able to bring playoff basketball back to Madison Square Garden.

The next step is for the team to land some high-profile free agents. There is a lot of reasons for Spike Lee and the rest of Knicks nation to feel confident about the future of their team.
