Hideki Matsui Reacts To Shohei Ohtani Insanely Breaking His Record Before The All-Star Break

Shohei Ohtani is simply must-watch TV. And Hideki Matsui is here for it.

Whether he’s on the mound, or at the plate, Sho-time has been the greatest thing to happen to the MLB during the 2021 season.

Just recently, Ohtani was selected to represent the American League in this year’s All Star Game. Not only will Shohei be recognized as an All-Star hitter, but also a pitcher. Something that has not happened since the late Babe Ruth.

On Wednesday, Ohtani broke the single-season home run record by a Japanese-born player with a whopping 32. Yeah, in early July…

Hideki Matsui knew that Shohei Ohtani was closing in on his record, and he had a statement ready to go.

Not only is Shohei Ohtani breaking records for foreign-born players. But the guy is doing things that no other baseball player has ever done before.

Part of the reason Hideki Matsui is such a legend was because he performed admirably in October. Currently, the Angels sit at 44-42, nine games out of first place in the AL West.

We’ve been clamoring to see Mike Trout play on a competitive team for many years, but it’s completely possible that it would be even bigger for the game if Shohei Ohtani was competing for a ring.

Make it happen, Angels. Shohei Ohtani is simply too good to have his talents wasted.
