Shohei Ohtani Did Something That Hasn’t Been Done Since Babe Ruth Today

The Shohei Ohtani craze is completely taking over the baseball world. When healthy, Shohei is an electric talent both on the mound, and at the plate as a dual-threat. So, should we really be surprise that Shohei did something that hasn’t happened since Babe Ruth tonight?

Shohei Ohtani entered tonight tied for the league lead with seven home runs. He was also the starting pitcher. The last time someone started a game on the mound while also being the league leader in home runs? You guessed it…Babe Ruth.

Shoehei pitched pretty well, too. On a limited pitch count because of a previous injury, Ohtani went 5 Ip, giving up 4 earned runs. But he had nine strikeouts to go along with the so-so performance.

Social media is blowing up with Ohtani’s rise into must-see TV.

Shohei Ohtani’s ability to be a nasty pitcher, while also hitting home runs at a next-level pace is something we haven’t seen in quite some time. Precisely, since Babe Ruth was doing his thing.

Hopefully this dude can stay healthy. The game will benefit so much from his ridiculous talent.
