Sean Payton Reportedly in Negotiations With Fox Sports To Potentially Replace Troy Aikman

Fox may lose out on Troy Aikman, but they may have already found their man to replace him.

Sean Payton is taking off from coaching 2022, but he still wants to keep busy.

Now we know how he may occupy his time, as it’s being reported the former New Orleans Saints head coach is negotiating with Fox Sports to do games. Troy Aikman is expected to sign with ESPN for Monday Night Football.

“The former New Orleans Saints coach would team with play-by-play announcer Joe Buck if and when Troy Aikman finalizes his exit to either ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” or Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football.”

Fox will broadcast two of the next three Super Bowls. If the 58-year old Payton succeeds, he’d immediately leap to the top of sports broadcasting along with Aikman, Tony Romo of CBS Sports, and Cris Collinsworth of NBC Sports.”

Sources told Front Office Sports that Sean Payton could expect a contract worth at least $10 million a year.

Payton has a record of 152-89 with the Saints. He is expected to get back to coaching eventually.

But if you can make 10 million a year to do something a little less crazy, why not…
