Rob Ryan Slams Former Bills GM Doug Whaley ‘The Worst GM In The History Of Football’

Rob and Rex Ryan were fun when they had their time in the NFL. They were always two of the more fiery coaches in the league, and never failed to give a quality sound bite. While both the Ryan brothers experienced some success in the NFL, their time coaching together with the Buffalo Bills was a complete disaster.

Rex hired Rob Ryan to be his assistant coach with the Bills in 2016, and the partnership only lasted one year before general manager Doug Whaley pulled the plug. The Bills went 7-9 that season, but had much higher expectations. Whaley was then fired before the 2017 season began.

Rob Ryan went on the Pat McAfee Show today, and didn’t hold back when talking about Whaley.

“I knew we had a bad team,” Ryan says. “We had the worst general manager in the history of football.”

Harsh criticism here from Rob Ryan. He then talks about how he thinks his brother is a great football coach, and how he believes Rex deserves another shot to be a head coach in the NFL. Rex Ryan is now 57-years-old and seems comfortable with his gig at ESPN.

I don’t think NFL teams are going to be calling either of the Ryan brothers anytime soon. It would be entertaining to have them back in the league, though.
