More Details Have Been Revealed About The Cameraman Who Got Choked During A-10 Championship Game

A photo of a St. Bonaventure cameraman getting choked by stadium security during the A-10 Championship celebration went viral over the weekend. The strange photo basically encapsulated how odd the past year has been for all of us, and people wanted answers.

Now, the A-10 has revealed that the whole thing was a big ‘misunderstanding’.

“It was a misunderstanding of access between security and the Bonnes videographer,” said a source for the A10 via Complex. “Security guards, especially in COVID times, are trained to keep media off the court, but this guy was allowed to be out there.”

The St. Bonaventure players were noticeably upset when their photographer was being aggressively pulled off the court by his neck.

The man who took the picture of the videographer getting choked was a student photographer, Griffin Quinn, who attends University of Dayton, where the game was being held. Quinn spoke on what he saw from the players after their cameraman was getting choked.

“The players on the team were like, ‘Yo, what’s going on? He works with us,’” said Quinn on his Twitter. “They were celebrating, but they noticed something was up. Members of the coaching staff went over and talked to the security guard and then ultimately the videographer was allowed back on the court.”

It certainly feels like this security guard was overly aggressive when he could have just checked to see if the cameraman had credentials to be on the court.

We’ll wait to see if there’s any further discipline announced from this ordeal.
