If at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again! It looks like that is exactly what NFL running back Le’Veon Bell is attempting to do.
The 29-year-old free agent remains unsigned as the month of June approaches. Nonetheless, Bell is adamant that he will play in the 2021 NFL season, even if he is not yet sure where.

Oh, and he also went after the New York Jets big time on Twitter, the team he chose to sign with the first time he was an unrestricted free agent.
i’ll sign somewhere when IM ready…ain’t no more finessing me with lies and sh*t just to get me to sign with they team…no more rushed decisions on my end, period… https://t.co/BbNussInFU

It looks like Le’Veon Bell felt he rushed his decision to sign with the Jets. Now, he is blaming the New York play-calling for his massive drop in production relative to his time as a Pittsburgh Steeler.
Most NFL fans on Twitter aren’t feeling sorry at all for the running back. Instead, they are piling on. Bell hasn’t been shy about engaging in the discussions himself.
In fact, you have to scroll quite a ways down his Twitter feed to find a Tweet that isn’t a quoted comment and response to a fan.
First, we have a response to the boatload of money he made signing with the New York Jets in free agency:
money wise, somewhat…other than that, hell no https://t.co/rBWrVAPxrX
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021
Next, a few quips about not receiving true ‘opportunity’ in New York:
lol the only difference with the steelers was they gave me opportunity… haven’t had that since I left, I probably need to play for a defensive minded head coach instead of these offensive minded guru’s … https://t.co/JAT50XUm23
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021
I had more touches in 2017 for the steelers than I had my entire time with the jets… that’s what I mean by “opportunity” weirdo https://t.co/mT4fXogHqI
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021
And finally, the assertion that he still has the talent to be a game-changer:
lol so I had elite talent alllllll the way up until 2017…….and then just feel off a cliff huh? 🤣 okay https://t.co/OB3uJ9bAc5
— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) May 27, 2021
Look, Le’Veon Bell is virtually guaranteed to wind up with a team sooner or later. Running backs drop like flies annually to injuries. Someone will have a use for him eventually, even if it’s not right at the start of the NFL season.
The question fans and fantasy football players alike really want answered is whether Bell is telling the truth with his comments or if he is indeed over the hill. Even if his best days are behind him, no one can tell the man himself that he doesn’t have more left in the tank.
2021 will be the year y’all reminded

Hey look, finally not a quote Tweet!
For now, I remain 99.9% certain that Le’Veon Bell will never be close to his old self again. But man, I’d sure love for him to be right on this one!
