LeBron James Claps Back At Zlatan Ibrahimovic After Being Criticized For Political Agenda

LeBron James does not shy away from conflict when he uses his platform to try to create social change. Such was the case when AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic suggested that LeBron would be better off if he just stayed out of politics and stuck to basketball.

“I will never shut up about things that are wrong. I preach about my people and I preach about equality, social justice, racism, voter suppression — things that go on in our community,” LeBron said via CNN.
“I’ll use my platform to continue to shed light on everything that’s going on around this country and around the world. There’s no way I would ever just stick to sports, because I understand how powerful this platform and my voice is.”
LeBron also pointed at the hypocrisy behind Zlatan’s jab, as he remembered an instance in 2018 when the Swedish forward thought there was an underlying reason why he was treated differently from other soccer players.
“He’s the guy who said in Sweden, he was talking about the same things, because his last name wasn’t a (traditional Swedish) last name, he felt like there was some racism going on,” James said.
It appears as if there’s a budding war of words going on between LeBron James and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We’ll see if the soccer superstar has anything else to say after James’s latest comments.
