Karl-Anthony Towns Shares He Was Hit By A Drunk Driver In The Offseason

Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns has been going through a rough patch this past year, to say the least. First, his mother and other family members died after contracting the coronavirus. Now he is dealing with his own battle with COVID. To cap it all off, Towns has revealed he was hit by a drunk driver in the offseason. On the bright side, Karl-Anthony Towns gave all the thanks to his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, for being there for him through the rough times.

Towns answered some questions for his followers on Instagram Thursday night. One asked how he has been able to deal with adversity lately. Towns talked about the importance of having a support system and thanked his girlfriend.

“My woman has held me down more than the world knows,” Towns wrote, via TMZ. “From my mother and family members dying (1 on her bday in Cabo), getting hit by a drunk driver (was 2pm in the afternoon FYI) in LA this off-season and staying with me in the hospital for the night and helping me in rehab, to this stint with COVID she has been there with me every step of the way and stayed ten toes down.”

KAT didn’t give any further details about the accident other than that. It’s unclear if he was driving, but the injuries sound somewhat serious.

The accident would not be the first serious one Towns has been involved in. He also suffered a concussion during the 2018-19 season following a frightening crash. The details made it seem as though he was fortunate to be alive.

Despite his tough year, Karl-Anthony is thankful that he has had his girlfriend Jordyn Woods with him through it all. Towns tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month and has been out since. Dealing with adversity is tough, and man has he had a lot of it recently. Thankfully, he has someone to keep him from feeling alone in the midst of struggle.

Wishing you a safe recovery and a better year, Karl-Anthony Towns.
