Jose Canseco Accuses Mark McGwire Of Excessive Cheating In Latest Claim

Jose Canseco has developed a reputation as a villain in his post-playing days. The former MLB slugger has openly admitted to taking steroids over the course of his career, and even said that he personally injected Hall-of-Fame players.

Canseco was in the news again recently when he couldn’t last more than 20 seconds against a Barstool Sports intern during an exhibition boxing match.

Now, Jose Canseco is in the news again. This time, he’s ratting on his fellow “bash brother” Mark McGwire for corking his bat prior to every game.

“Mark McGwire corked his bat before every game,” Canseco wrote on his Twitter account.

Ozzie Guillen, who played against McGwire and Canseco throughout his career, was skeptical that McGwire would have the time to cork his bat every day.

Corking your bat is said to create more of a bouncing affect when the ball makes contact, hence making the ball travel farther.

To me, this is just another instance of Jose Canseco trying to remain relevant even though nobody really cares about him anymore. He’s been a rat ever since he stopped playing baseball, and I’m sure he’ll continue to do and say things that will allow his name to appear in the news.
