Joey Chestnut Has Doubts On How Much Longer He Can Keep Doing This

On July 4th, the GOAT of hot dog eating contest, Joey Chestnut, wowed (and grossed out) all of us yet again.

Perhaps the most decorated eater ever, Chestnut broke his own record, taking down 76 hot dogs during the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.

In the aftermath of the record-breaking performance, Joey Chestnut shared how he recovers from eating so many hot dogs in one sitting.

“I’m still bloated,” Chestnut told TMZ on Monday. “If I start sweating, I’ll smell like meat. But I go in knowing that it’s going to take a couple days to recover.”

“As soon as I can, I’m going to start eating a salad, greens and high fiber.”

While Joey Chestnut is still putting em down like never before, the 37-year-old said that he can feel his body changing a little bit. And he doesn’t know how much longer he can really keep setting new records.

“I tried pushing a little bit harder but I’ll tell you what, last year I felt I recovered a little bit quicker,” Chestnut said. “This year, I’m getting older and I don’t know how much more I can push it while I’m getting older.

“It’s like anybody. You have to be aware of your body… As long as it’s still fun and as long as I’m healthy, I’ll be doing it. I hope I can keep making gains, but it’s going to get harder and harder. I can see that coming.”

Joey Chestnut will likely continue to dominate the competition for as long as he can, but I’m not sure we’ll be seeing the man continue to be able to take down 76 hot dogs for too much longer.

Who am I to doubt the guy, though?
