Jeremy Lin Says He Won’t Reveal The Names Of Players Who Made Racist Remarks

Former NBA phenom Jeremy Lin is trying to work his way back into the league. The former Knicks sensation is currently on the Golden Sate Warriors G-League team in Santa Cruz.

Lin made headlines recently when he revealed that players were making racist comments to him on the court, such as referring to him as “Coronavirus”. Jeremy Lin is from Asian descent.

The league has since launched an investigation into these claims. However, Jeremy Lin has now released a statement revealing that he will not be sharing the names of the players who called him racist names.

“I know this will disappoint some of you but I’m not naming or shaming anyone,” Lin tweeted Saturday. “What good does it do in this situation for someone to be torn down? It doesn’t make my community safer or solve any of our long-term problems with racism.”

Sideaction’s Latest:

Lin’s latest comments will likely put a snag into any investigation on who may have been involved in the racist taunts being thrown his way.  With that being said, the problem is probably more systemic, anyways. Jeremy Lin is just the latest player who has experienced harassment due to the color of his skin or how he looks.

It’s kind of crazy that it’s 2021 and we’re still hearing these types of stories everyday. Something needs to change.

Good for Jeremy Lin for speaking up.
