Jay Gruden Lashes Out At Dan Snyder For Being Too Hands On In Washington

Former Washington Football Team coach Jay Gruden had some things to say about the team’s owner Dan Snyder. Snyder is known to be one of the hardest owners in all of sports to work for, and his organization has been held back due to his approach to the handling of football operations.

During a recent interview, former Washington coach Jay Gruden made it clear that he didn’t have very fond memories of working under Snyder’s grasp.

“Every year that I was there, we had a pretty good draft class, with a couple exceptions,” former coach Jay Gruden said, via The Washington Post. “[Smith] was really good about listening to the coaches because the coaches also did evaluations. … When it came our time to pick, we’d always talk about the picks, where we’d like to go, what happens if [the player] is gone, and did all our scenarios. And then [owner Daniel Snyder] would come in off his yacht and make the pick.”

There have been rumblings that Dan Snyder was a big reason why the team drafted Dwayne Haskins over a lot of other talented players. Obviously, Haskins didn’t work out. WFT finds themselves in a similar situation this offseason–they need a quarterback.

Hopefully this time Dan Snyder stays away and lets the football guys handle it.
