Jamal Murray Honors George Floyd And Breonna Taylor With Shoes And Explodes For 50 Points

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray says his 50-point performance was inspired by his shoes honoring Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. The performance was in a must-win playoff game 6 against the Utah Jazz. While his scoring was very impressive, Murray’s post-game was even more moving. See for yourself.

“These shoes mean a lot,” Murray told Jared Greenberg after the game. He continued to say “we just want to win.” The Kentucky alum was holding back tears as he explained how much the shoes meant to him. Murray even went as far as to say the shoes give him life. That is pretty powerful, being as Taylor and Floyd both had their lives stripped away from them in the hands of police officers.

This series has been a fun one. Donovan Mitchell has been unbelievably good and now Murray put on a marquee performance. The best part is that Game 7 is on its way. However, if you think you can pick the winner be my guest. This is a bet I would avoid. I couldn’t pick either team confidently. Especially with money on the line. Murray was outstanding in Game 6 and he had a great motive. Let’s hope him and both teams carry that energy into Game 7.
