Matthew McConaughey is the hype man American soccer has been desperately waiting for! Watching him bang his bongo in front of almost 20,000 screaming Austin F.C. fans at their home opener is a step in the right direction for the MLS.

McConaughey is actually a minority share holder in the team and was a big part of bringing a soccer team to Austin, Texas.

I don’t think anyone can say that McConaughey is not electric. His voice, this attitude, and his charisma make him a perfect fit for sports team hype man.

With that, it’s time to take it one step further! Team USA needs to get McConaughey involved. While it’s amazing to see him creating these action packed videos for Austin F.C., it would be something even more special for all of america if the team were to take him on in a similar role.

Imagine, an Uncle Sam style America suit, red, white, and blue, banging his bongo, yelling at the top of his lungs, U.S.A. All the way!
