Hockey Zamboni Catches Fire And Bursts Into Flames After Youth Hockey Practice

Hockey Zambonis were always an obsession of mine growing up. I can’t explain it, it just seemed like a cool piece of machinery. Anyways, here’s what happens when that machinery fails on you.

“How is he on there,” one person asks in the video. It’s a pretty good question. maybe he doesn’t even realize the freaking thing is on fire? I don’t know, but if I’m a Zamboni driver and my ride catches fire, I’m hopping off and never looking back.

This incident happened after a youth hockey practice in Rochester, New York at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex on the campus of Monroe Community College.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident. Management at the iceplex say a hose on the machine broke, leaking fluid on the motor, according to WHAM.

I sure hope Monroe Community College has the funds for a new Zamboni. I also hope that the ice isn’t too badly screwed up from this mess. These kids need to be able to continue their hockey season, damnit. 2020 has taken enough from us, don’t fuck with youth hockey now, too. Here are some more scenes from the on-ice fire.
