Godon Hayward took a bet on himself this offseason, and boy did it pay off. Michael Jordon and the Charlotte Hornets’ brass decided that the veteran sharp shooter was worth a MASSIVE four year $120 million deal.

MJ saw all the bad contracts around the league and he took it personally

Fans even brought the GOAT debate between MJ and Lebron into this.
Guys, LeBron is not only a better player than Michael Jordan, but he’s already, without a shadow of a doubt, a better team builder than MJ & he hasn’t even retired yet.

at this point i could probably convince michael jordan to sign me on a 2 yr/$8 million contract

I like Gordon Hayward. I really do. I’m even happy for him that he was able to secure his bag. He has come a long way from being the lovable underdog with Brad Stevens on the Butler Bulldog squad that very nearly won the National Championship.
With that being said, there is no way that he is worth $120 million. Hayward was good on the Celtics, but he has never lived up to the hype after leaving the Utah Jazz. He has also shown that he can be injury prone.
I’m not quite sure what Michael Jordan is thinking here, but let’s hope it doesn’t come back to bite him. None of us want to see MJ get fired out of an NBA job. Gordon Hayward should be good in Charlotte, but I have my doubts he can be great. Maybe he’ll sell some jerseys and win enough games to where this deal can be somewhat justified, but i just don’t have a great feeling about it.
Hopefully I’m wrong. For the sake of Michael Jordan and Gordon Hayward.
