Fans React To Announcement That Tim Tebow Is On Mets Spring Training Roster

Tim Tebow is back to trying to make an MLB roster.

The 33-year-old SEC football analyst was announced on the New York Mets’ Spring Training roster consisting of 75 players.

Tim Tebow was listed on the team’s list of non-roster invitees. He will play outfield, and likely gain a lot of interest every time he steps into the batters box.

I’m not going to bash Tim Tebow for not quitting on his dream of playing in the MLB. If anything, this is on the Mets, who continue to let Tebow be a part of their roster despite his poor overall body of work.

Tebow was asked about his hope to play in the MLB one day.

“That would obviously be something that would be special, and I think another part of the dream,” Tebow said via ESPN. “Part of it’s just playing every day and enjoying it and competing, which I love. Obviously, that would be awesome. It would be a lie if I said that wouldn’t be super cool. … But I wouldn’t say it would be a success or failure if that did or did not happen.”

This is probably the last chance Tim Tebow has to prove that he’s anything more than a sideshow act in a big league uniform. I’ll be rooting for the guy, but I’m not sure a baseball career is in the works for Tebow.
