Freddie Freeman Trending Following The Braves’ Latest Move

It appears that the Freddie Freeman era in Atlanta is over.

On Monday, it was announced that the Braves were acquiring first baseman Matt Olson from the A’s — seemingly to replace Freeman.

Shortly after the move signaling the end of Freddie Freeman’s tenure in Atlanta was reported, the longtime leader of the Braves was trending all over the web.

The end of an era for Freddie Freeman

It’s hard to imagine the MLB without Freeman holding down the post at first base for the Atlanta Braves. But perhaps going out with a World Series Trophy is just the perfect send-off for a franchise legend.

During his 12 seasons in Atlanta, Freeman slashed .295/.384/.509 to go along with 271 home runs and 941 RBIs.

Matt Olson is a fine get for Atlanta. But he’s not Freddie Freeman, and whoever signs the left-handed slugger next will be getting one of the best first baseman we’ve seen this generation.
