Fifteen Women Have Accused Washington’s Football Team And Dan Snyder Of Sexual Harassment

247Sports – The [Washington Post] article, headlined as “From dream job to nightmare,” tells the stories of allegations from more than a dozen women. Emily Applegate told the post, “She would meet a female co-worker in the bathroom during their lunch breaks, she said, to commiserate and cry about the frequent sexual harassment and verbal abuse they endured.”

“Applegate is one of 15 former female Redskins employees who told The Washington Post they were sexually harassed during their time at the club,” The Post rreports. “The other 14 women spoke on the condition of anonymity citing a fear of litigation, as some signed nondisclosure agreements with the team that threaten legal retribution if they speak negatively about the club. The team declined a request from The Post to release former female employees from these agreements so they could speak on the record without fear of legal reprisal. This story involved interviews with more than 40 current and former employees and a review of text messages and internal company documents.

“Team owner Daniel Snyder declined several requests for an interview. Over the past week, as The Post presented detailed allegations and findings to the club, three team employees accused of improper behavior abruptly departed, including Larry Michael, the club’s longtime radio voice, and Alex Santos, the team’s director of pro personnel.”

Just short of the Jay Gruden rumors and the other rumors of Dan Snyder sex trafficking with Jeffrey Epstein, the Washington Post article lays out a lot of troubling behavior. It also indirectly may explain a lot of the cozy roles for Washington employees previously with guys with poor track records like Bruce Allen who were alleged to keep their jobs due to their chumminess with Snyder and why minority owners recently wanted to ditch the organization.

Dan Snyder himself may not have been directly accused of the kind of gross #MeToo sexual harassment and abuse that others in the organization have had thrown back their way. But he’s created this racist, sexist, disaster of a team that still has to play football in just a few months.

Washington fans may finally get their wish of losing Snyder as a team owner, even if it’s under the grossest possible circumstances.
