Did Sean Payton Pay A Ref During Sunday Night Football?

Sean Payton has come a long way from his humble upbringing to being widely considered as one of the bigger scumbags in the NFL. Sunday Night Football may have just added another chapter to his story. I’ll Let you guys be the judge of what’s going on during this interaction between Payton and a ref last night.

To be real, Sean Payton was probably just handing the challenge flag back to the ref, but I’m here for the controversy. Also, if there’s one man who shouldn’t get the benefit of the doubt, it’s Sean Payton.

This is the kind of guy that sticks his leg out and chirps opposing players on the sidelines.

In Payton’s defense, he’s a guy that you love if he’s your coach and you hate if he’s not. We need more of those guys in sports. Sean Payton is a villian, and he plays the role well. Ever since Payton found himself embroiled in the scandal that was bounty-gate, an elaborate system put in place by Saints coaches in 2012 that paid players for injuring their opponents, Payton has been known as the “bad guy”.

Through it all, Sean Payton has prevailed, and even strived. I think that’s a testament to how good of a play-caller he is that he’s lasted this long and kept the Saints consistently in contention despite his brutal reputation.

I know one thing, if I was starting an NFL team tomorrow, I’d love Sean Payton to be my head coach. The guy might be a jerk, but he knows his X’s and O’s. However, Payton and the Saints are now going to have to regroup from a 1-2 start if they want to make a run this year. Maybe Sean Payton can up the ante with these refs to help turn the tide.
