Demar Derozan’s 7-Year-Old Daughter Saved the Day During Home Invasion

Demar Derozan and his family suffered a scare this week when an intruder broke into the house. While Derozan was originally credited with scaring off the invader, it appears that his 7-year-old daughter should really be praised for getting the criminal out of the house.

Accorrding to TMZ, Derozan’s daughter was the first person to see the suspect. Video shows the intruder (now known to be Justin Bergquist) enter the NBA star’s home and walk around before seeing the young girl.

“When the suspect saw [DeMar’s daughter], he put his finger to his lips and signaled for her to be quiet,” the police report said, but she was smarter than that. Derozan’s daughter screamed for her parents, and the invader ran out of the home. Props to Derozan’s daughter for protecting her house.

Bergquist is facing a felony burglary charge.

Derozan confirmed the intrusion, but assured his fans that ‘everything is good’.

“Everything is good,” DeRozan said Saturday, per told RJ Marquez of KSAT. “I grew up in Compton, California. I’ve been through worse.”

Derozan is set to start the NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs soon. The Spurs missed the playoffs for the first time in 22 seasons last year.

Derozan will try to get his young squad back on track for the 2020-21 season.
