After reports indicated that Deion Sanders stormed out of media day after condemning the reporter for calling him by his first name, he took to Twitter to rebuke the claim.

“Never walked out of media day,” he said on Twitter. “I prolonged my time to answer another question & the person thought it was cute to address me the way he did so I dropped the call & went to the next outlet. Please don’t allow a fool to fool u because then nobody would truly know who the fool is.”

During the media appearance, it was Nick Suss of the Clarion Ledger prefaced one of his questions to Sanders by calling the decorated coach by his first name “Deion”.

“You don’t call Nick Saban, ‘Nick.’ Don’t call me Deion,” Sanders told Nick Suss. “If you call Nick (Saban), Nick, you’ll get cussed out on the spot, so don’t do that to me,” Deion Sanders later added. “Treat me like Nick.”

It seems like Deion Sanders is demanding more respect prior to his second season with Jackson State.
