Dan Dakich Has Been Working As A Delivery Driver After Gambling Away Money During The NCAA Tournament

College basketball broadcaster Dan Dakich has had some hiccups in the past when he says something controversial on his social media accounts.

Now, he’s in a different (and more relatable) bit of trouble. Dakich revealed that he lost a lot of money gambling of the NCAA Tournament in March, and now he’s trying to teach himself a lesson.

Dakich had an interview with BarrettSportsMedia.com, and said he originally applied to work at a hardware store to make up the money he lost while betting.

“I come from iron and steel workers, teachers, and I lost sight of the value of a dollar,” Dakich said via The Spun. “I woke up at 5:30 in the morning and I told my wife I had to make it up. Seriously, I went to the hardware store about a mile from my house and applied for a job, because I wanted to make the money back. I owe my family and I lost the value of a dollar.”

I guess the hardware store didn’t work out because Dakich would go on to admit that after finding out how much money his stepson makes delivering for Grubhub, he would take a job with DoorDash.

Dan Dakich fell into a hole that a lot of us can relate to. Props to him for finding a way to get some money back after it seems like he had a pretty rough go during March Madness.

I think it’s safe to say Dakich will stick with the bracket challenges next year.
