Dak Prescott Receives Punishment For Controversial Comments About Officiating After Super Wild Card Loss

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott received a lot of criticism for his comments about the refs following the Super Wild Card loss to the Niners last weekend.

When he was told during his postgame presser that fans were throwing trash at the officials Dak quipped, “credit to them”.

Even the NBA Officials released a statement to condemn Dak Prescott for refusing to acknowledge fans chucking their trash towards human beings is a bad thing.

Today, it was announced that Dak Prescott was receiving a fine from the NFL over his comment.

Dak Prescott apologized to officials earlier in the week.

“I deeply regret the comments I made regarding the officials after the game on Sunday. I was caught up in the emotion of a disappointing loss and my words were uncalled for and unfair,” he tweeted.

It’s clear that Dak Prescott was caught up in the frustrations of the playoff loss. But no matter the circumstance, it’s probably not best if your franchise player is welcoming fans to chuck shit at refs.

I’d expect Dak to choose his words a little more wisely in the future.
