Colin Cowherd May Have Had Influence On 49ers Drafting Trey Lance

We have had several reports looking at the relationship between Colin Cowherd and new San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance throughout the past week. Of course, the common denominator between them appears to be Cowherd’s daughter, Liv.

Liv Cowherd herself received a whole bunch of comments in reaction to Lance being taken at No. 3 overall.

Well, according to members of Cowherd’s “camp”, the Fox Sports radio show host and founder of The Volume may have had a greater influence on the 49ers drafting Lance than you’d expect.

Liv Cowherd retweeted that tweet from her dad. She also sent out one of her own that arguably isn’t receiving enough attention as part of this whole conversation:

So here’s the thing: we still don’t know for certain whether or not Lance is in fact dating Liv Cowherd. That being said, she wasn’t afraid to stir the pot on social media when the pick was made official.

Liv Cowherd also posted a pic of the newest Niner on stage with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and tagged him on her IG story Thursday night during the draft.

What we do now know is that Colin Cowherd reached out to 49ers GM John Lynch regarding Trey Lance a few weeks before the NFL Draft. He discussed both his encounter with Lance and the text message exchange with Lynch on his podcast.

Well now, ain’t that somethin! It’s the “I know I had no influence” line for me.

Cowherd, mind you, talked at length before the NFL Draft that he was sure San Francisco would take Alabama quarterback Mac Jones with the third overall selection. That prediction was clearly wrong, but the man rumored to be the father of Trey Lance’s girlfriend had no qualms with the 49ers pivoting elsewhere, going so far as to say he believes it is “the right pick”.

Will we ever know the full truth behind the 49ers draft-day decision? Perhaps not. What we can say with near certainty is that Trey Lance clearly has more than just a professional relationship with both Colin and Liv Cowherd. This latest story only furthers the speculation as to whether there are romantic interests as well.
