Cleveland Needs To Consider Other Options At QB After Inefficient Performance From Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield is not the long-term answer for the Cleveland Browns.

Yes, the Browns are 3-1 this season, but boy oh boy does Baker Mayfield look like a lost puppy out there.

Mayfield missed plenty of passes today, completing just 15 of his 33 attempts, but this one was one of the toughest to watch. Mayfield missed a wide open Odell Beckham Jr. for an easy touchdown Sunday, and the star WR did not look impressed.

Mayfield responded to reporters today, and was very blunt about his game: “This piss-poor performance isn’t going to cut it. I’ve got to do better.” Yes, we know Baker, you do need to do better, or you won’t be around once this team starts losing.

Mayfield had an efficient first couple games of the season but he has only managed to complete 34 of his 64 attempts for 401 yards over the last two games.

The Browns are still winning, so clearly the fans will be fine for now. But if their defense were to falter at all, you have to think the fans will be calling for his head.

The Browns travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers next Sunday.
