NFL’s Top Taunter CJ Gardner-Johnson Unsurprisingly Went On A Tirade Against The League’s New Crackdown

Now that NFL players will be heavily penalized for taunting, a lot of fans have asked what the league’s most notorious taunter, Saints corner CJ Gardner Johnson, will do with himself.

By the sounds of his latest press conference, he isn’t too sure, either.

Gardner-Johnson would call the new crackdown on taunting ‘bulls-t’, saying you can’t stop players from being who they are.

“To be real, the rule is bullshit,” CJ Gardner-Johnson said. “Excuse my language, but you can’t stop the emotional players from being who we are. Not me, who WE are. A lot of players wear their emotions on their sleeves. … It is what it is.”

When asked how you could even police taunting, CJ Gardner-Johnson was struggling to comprehend the thought process by the NFL.

“I’m questioning just like you’re questioning it.How? Because the game is a rollercoaster of emotions. Mentally you’ve got to be an athlete and be professional,” he said.

Last season, CJ Gardner-Johnson used his patented mind games to get in the heads of Chicago Bears receivers Javon Wims and Anthony Miller, who were both ejected from separate games against the Saints for getting into it with Gardner-Johnson.

While CJ Gardner-Johnson might be the best at taunting his opponents, he’s not the only player who has spoken out against the crackdown.

Chiefs corner Tyrann Mathieu was critical of Giants owner John Mara saying he was all for players being more respectful of each other on the field.

It’ll be interesting to see how defensive backs such as Tyrann Mathieu and CJ Gardner-Johnson deal with the new taunting rules.

It’s hard to imagine these guys can take such an edge out of their games…for CJ especially.
