Chicago Bulls Reportedly Keyed In On Patrick Williams With the #4 Overall Pick

Patrick Williams and the Chicago Bulls are set for a big night tonight. It’s the first time not entering a draft with Gar Forman and John Paxson leading the basketball ops department for the Bulls. They’re out. Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley are in. The have the #4 overall pick in the draft tonight, and rival teams think they know who the Bulls are taking.

Patrick Williams is reportedly the favorite to go to the Bulls at #4, according to team insider K.C Johnson.

I’ve followed K.C Johnson a lot in the past. This guy normally knows his stuff, and I believe in his sources. However, this one is a little bit of a head scratcher. Patrick Williams is a good player, but he wasn’t expected to go top-4 in this year’s draft.

If the Bulls like Williams, you would think they could trade down and still get him. With that being said, that’s why I’m not working for a team. I simply do not know what the consensus is on Williams.

What I do know is that Patrick Williams does have a lot of potential.  Williams is just 19-years-old. He didn’t have much of a showing during his one year at Florida State, but he does have plenty of promise.

Patrick Williams averaged 9.2 points, four rebounds and one assist in his lone collegiate season, earning ACC Sixth Man of the Year honors. He combines rare athleticism with versatility that could help the Bulls fill their void at wing for years to come.

Patrick Williams may be a Chicago Bull in a matter of hours. Stay tuned.
