Celtics GM Danny Ainge Is Getting Trashed During The Trade Deadline

Boston Celtics general manager knows his roster isn’t good enough to compete for an NBA championship at the moment. The Celtics have a fine young team centered around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. However, they just don’t have a lot of pieces around them.

For the past few offseasons and trade deadlines, it feels like Danny Ainge has come short of landing the player or players that could take the team over the edge. Fans have taken notice, and they’re not happy.

Danny Ainge once had a reputation as one of the best general managers in the NBA. That label is quickly evaporating. The Celtics have had very clear needs for the past two years, and they’ve failed to address them.

Sure, Evan Fournier is a fine player. But he’s not going to be the difference-maker that the Celtics need if they want to be a serious contender. Danny Ainge has to know that.

It’s beyond time for the Celtics to make a big move.
