Carson Wentz’s Former Teammate Picks The Perfect Landing Spot For The QB

Carson Wentz’s days in Indianapolis look like they’re coming to an end.

After just one season under center, the Colts’ brass refused to commit to Wentz for the long haul following the disappointing loss to the lowly Jaguars in the last week of the season.

When speaking on Carson Wentz’ future, former teammate, Lane Johnson, commented on where he may land after the Indy year didn’t go according to plan.

“I think he’ll get a shot somewhere and this will be a point where he can prove all the doubters wrong,” Johnson said when talking about the potential fit Wentz would have with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Colts are reportedly already looking for a replacement quarterback to turn to after seeing Carson Wentz fail to get their team over the hump in 2021-22.

“I know they are actively looking for another QB because Chris Ballard is always trying to improve,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have not given any indications that they’re interested in Carson Wentz. In fact, the team said recently that they were fully prepared for backup quarterback Mason Rudolph to take the reigns from Ben Roethlisberger next season.

“I’m comfortable that Mason has won more games than he’s lost as a starter,” Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said. “Where that can go, we’ll see. To be an NFL starter that you can win with, you gotta prove it over 16 games. I’m anxious to see that, if that’s the case.”

Despite those comments, I don’t think Pittsburgh would be content rolling out there with Rudolph next season. Carson Wentz probably makes a lot more sense for them if the asking price isn’t too high.
