Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will always be tied together. The two surefire first-ballot Hall-of-Famers were the best quarterbacks in football over the past two decades. While Peyton Manning has been retired, Brady rages on at 43-years-old.
Tom Brady left New England for Tampa Bay, and in year one he was able to win the Super Bowl on his new team. According to an assistant coach, Peyton Manning leaving Indianapolis after many years played a part in Brady’s decision to leave the Patriots.
Here’s what Tom Brady’s quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen said during an appearance with CBS Sports Radio earlier in the week.
“The part that I’d share with you probably would be, you know, there was a part of him the first time I met him, and I had never met him before we picked him up,” Christensen said via The Spun. “He said one of the things that looked really fun and challenging to him was what Peyton [Manning] did at Denver. Like kind of the same scenario [in Tampa]. … There was something about that challenge that hit [Brady] right. ‘Hey, I’m going to go see if I can do this again somewhere else.’ I do think that the challenge of that was a huge thing for him. … He’s mentioned several times that he was impressed [with Manning’s accomplishments in Denver] and that looked fun and challenging to him.”

Peyton Manning won the Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos before riding off into the sunset. Tom Brady isn’t ready to ride off anytime soon. Now that Brady has one ring in Tampa, he wants another.
Tom Brady is still playing elite football, and I wouldn’t bet against him playing a few more seasons.
