Boris Becker Under Fire for ‘Sexism’ After Complimenting a Player’s Fiancée

When you’re a tennis legend, you’re not always untouchable. Just ask Tennis legend Boris Becker, who is now under fire after being accused of sexism while covering Wimbledon. Becker called a player’s fiance ‘very pretty.’ During a Wimbledon match, Marton Fucsovics’ fiancée Anett Boszormenyi was getting some screen time.

Becker saw the player’s fiance, and said:

“They do say they have the most beautiful women in Hungary. I wouldn’t know that, but she’s certainly very pretty.”

Apparently this outraged some.

Via Daily Mail:

“Stephanie Hilborne, CEO of Women in Sport, last night condemned Becker’s remarks.

‘The charity Women in Sport has worked for decades to change sporting culture, including to end the objectification of women,’ she said. ‘When two men are comfortable talking about women in this way, never mind on live TV, it shows there is still more to do.

‘We need everyone to understand how this impacts on women and girls. Shouldn’t we be inspiring the next generation of girls to play sport rather than talking about what women look like?'”

This is cancel culture gone too far.

When did calling someone pretty become offensive.  I mean, Boris Becker isn’t wrong.
