Being Back At The Masters Has Tiger Woods Sentimental About His Father, 2019 Win

Tiger Woods’ triumph at the 2019 Masters was the best sports story I’ve ever seen. Over a year later, and we are still so lucky to have witnessed that. This year has been different but we will have a Masters Tournament in 2020, after all. This weekend, Tiger Woods will attempt to defend his green jacket at Augusta National.

Being back at the golf Course that brought him so many memories has Tiger in a reflective mood. Here’s what he had to say.

“I’m still just getting chills thinking about it,” he said. “Then I walked off the back of the green, to see [his son] Charlie there, just opened up to our arms, it meant a lot to me and still does. It just reminded me so much of me and my dad [Earl in 1997], and to come full circle like that, it still gives me … you know, a little teary.”

Is it weird that I’m getting a little choked up now, too?

Tiger is a long shot to repeat at the Masters this weekend (+3500). It would be quite the story if he can somehow find a way to be in contention come Sunday. We all want to see Tiger near the front of the leaderboard in his Sunday red shirt. That would really be something.

Go get em, Tiger.
