Barstool’s KFC is in some hot water. One of the world’s most famous athletes was in a car accident today, and when something crazy happens to Tiger Woods, the entire world stops what it’s doing, and heads straight for the internet. When news broke that Tiger was involved in a rollover accident, everyone on Twitter was up in arms. One famous blogger did the very same and went straight to Twitter, except his tweets instantly caused some controversy.

KFC deleted the tweets quickly, and Twitter called his ass out:

He later explained himself:
It’s not a bit, Peter. The initial tweet was worded exactly like a long running internet hoax that has happened to at least 5 other athletes, so I was skeptical. But obviously it’s real, so hand up, and I of course hope he’s ok https://t.co/EgOltzLI2U

I deleted my tiger tweets, even though I believe in wearing your bad tweets. But I deleted it because it’s upsetting people, so it’s gone.
I got no problem admitting when I got bad tweets/jokes/moments

It was not a joke. It was that I genuinely related this incident to the the 6 other times that there have been identical tweets about athletes breaking both their legs in a car accident. The exact hoax headline ppl have used for yrs was tragically true this time. I got it wrong https://t.co/vteMQb6kcz

Look he works for Barstool Sports, so really he was perfectly on brand.
Sometimes people try to find humor in tragedy, but those tweets weren’t it.
We’ll have to see if Barstool punishes him for his very untimely joke.
