Barry Trotz’s Hilarious Quote About Ex-Wives Goes Viral

New York Islanders head coach Barry Trotz has been around the game for a long time, and seen a lot of BS on the ice. Off the rink, he’s dealt with his fair share of problems, as well.

Following the Islanders’ loss to the Canucks on Thursday night, Trotz dropped a dandy of a quote that left social media buzzing.

“There’s an old saying,” Trotz started. “Turnovers are like ex-wives, if you have too many, they cost you a lot.”

My favorite part about this whole quote is that Barry Trotz starts out by saying “there’s an old saying”. Maybe this is a hockey saying that I’m not aware of, but I have never heard that line in my entire life.

It’s nice to see Trotz still has his sense of humor, though. After making a run in last year’s playoffs, the Islanders currently find themselves well out of the playoff race with a 20-23-8 record on the season.

No matter how things end up going in New York, we’ll always love Barry Trotz.
