Adrian Peterson Won’t Be Facing Felony Domestic Violence Charges

Adrian Peterson finally got some good news.

The legendary NFL running back was arrested on Super Bowl Sunday following an argument with his wife prior to jumping on a flight from LAX to Houston. AP was initially facing felony domestic violence charges due to the fracas.

Peterson’s wife Ashley claims Adrian never hit her.  According to her story, Ashley suffered a scratch on her hand after Peterson attempted to take off her wedding ring.

Via TMZ Sports:

“Good news for Adrian Peterson … the NFL legend will NOT face felony domestic violence charges, despite initially being booked for the serious charge.

A rep from the L.A. DA’s office tells TMZ Sports they’ve elected not to charge the 36-year-old running back.

But, Peterson isn’t totally in the clear just yet. The case will now be sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney … who could opt to bring misdemeanor domestic violence charges against AD.

As for the alleged incident … sources tell us Peterson attempted to remove his wife’s wedding ring, causing minor marks to her hand.”

It doesn’t sound like scratching someone’s hand should result in a felony charge and arrest. But that’s just the kind of thing that happens to Adrian Peterson.

Peterson’s history definitely didn’t help his cause.
