A-Rod’s Ownership Group Closing Deal To Buy Timberwolves And Lynx For $1.5 Billion

Alex Rodriguez has bigger things on his plate to deal with now that A-Rod’s ownership is just a couple steps away from acquiring the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA and the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA. Rodriguez and tech entrepreneur, Marc Lore, reached an agreement to buy the two teams from Glen Taylor for $1.5 Billion, according to @TheAthletic and @Stadium.

Most of the deal is set but the group needs approval from the NBA owners, which should not be a problem. Per the deals of the contract, Lore will continue to operate the team through the 2023 season, but then it will be handed over to Rodriguez and Lore following that year.

As reported earlier when we first caught wind about the possible acquisition, the Timberwolves were bought by Glen Taylor for approximately $90 Million in 1994.

Alex Rodriguez has been in the news recently as he responded to his ex Jennifer Lopez rekindling with Ben Affleck.

Alex Rodriguez made a serious run to buy the New York Mets with recent ex- J-Lo, but was eventually outbid by billionaire Steven Cohen.

It will be interesting to see what kind of changes do happen over the next couple years with A-Rod at the helm.
