New Report Links Zach LaVine To The Los Angeles Lakers

Could LeBron James and the LA Lakers try to land Bulls guard Zach LaVine this offseason?

After failing to reach an extension with the Bulls, LaVine is now set to hit the open market. And being as LaVine and James share the same agency, there have been rumblings about a potential jump to LA.

According to the report, Zach LaVine would likely join the Lakers in a sign-and-trade deal.

After the Bulls lost to the Bucks in the playoffs, Zach LaVine shared his love for the city of Chicago, but also stated that he was planning on keeping his options open for the future.

“You should view it as I’ve been here for the last five years,” LaVine said, per Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago.“Obviously you guys have been a really, really soft spot in my heart and I have to do this as a business decision as a man. Not to just be viewed one way, and be like: ‘I’m automatically coming back,’ or ‘I’m automatically leaving,’ things like that. It’s unrestricted free agency, for my family and me I have to go into this like it’s a decision where I have to be open-eyed. And obviously I have to make my list and talk to everybody in the summertime.”

Obviously, Zach LaVine has a big decision looming, but perhaps the Lakers are waiting to pounce on the rising star.
