Will Zalatoris Injury: Agent Gives Update Following BMW Championship Withdraw

After notching his first career PGA win last week, Will Zalatoris had some bad luck at the BMW Championship today.

Zalatoris appeared to tweak his back during a drive, and after getting medical attention, he was forced to withdraw from the event.

After withdrawing, Will Zalatoris’ agent, Allen Hobbs, released a statement.

“Will tweaked his lower back during a shot on the 3rd hole today.  After getting it worked on and the pain not subsiding, he felt that it was best to withdraw from the BMW Championship so he can work with his trainer,” the statement read.

Hobbs would go on to say that Zalatoris’ current plan is to play the Tour Championship in Atlanta next weekend.

Will Zalatoris can’t currently drop below third in the FedEx Cup standings, but his availability next week will be crucial towards how his end-of-year rankings shake out.

After winning the St. Jude Championship, Zalatoris sounded relieved to finally get his first win after being so close all season long.

“Yeah, I mean, it’s frustrating, motivating, all those things,” he said Friday. “I mean, I’ve been close all year, and I think that over the last month I’ve learned a lot about my game, and I think it’s something that going forward I’m pretty excited.
We’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing.

We’re all hoping to see Will Zalatoris give it a go next week in Atlanta, and we’ll continue to track for any more updates as the week progresses.
