Northwestern, Nebraska Fans Celebrate Free Beer at Aviva Stadium in Ireland Thanks To WIFI Malfunction

It’s officially the start of the college football season, and while the opening game between Nebraska and Northwestern may not be the most exciting opener, there is reason for fans to celebrate.

During the first half of the Big Ten opener, fans became ecstatic when learning that the beer was free at Aviva Stadium in Ireland thanks to the WiFi going down in the stadium.

“Beer/alcohol is free right now at Aviva Stadium because the internet is down  Irish hospitality is top notch,” Nebraska radio host Jake Sorensen tweeted out from the game.

Other than free beer, Nebraska fans have more to be excited about coming into the season.

After giving Scott First another opportunity to prove he’s the right head coach to turn the Cornhuskers program around, Nebraska is hoping the addition of Texas quarterback transfer, Casey Thompson, will help lead them in the right direction this season.

Still, though, Frost is maintaining that he’s not looking for a complete overhaul this season.

“When you feel like you’re doing the right things, a complete change of course is the wrong way to go,” Frost said via Sporting News. “My role is going to change a little bit having an offensive coordinator that I trust to take it over. For the most part, it hasn’t led to the results we want. This year is going to be different.”

Last season, Nebraska had their best performance of the season when beating Northwestern 56-7 for their lone Big Ten win. As it stands in Ireland, the Cornhuskers are ahead of the Wildcats 14-3 after one quarter of play.

For Nebraska fans, you’d have to think things are going to go a little bit better this season. And it’s always nice to be gifted free beer to kick off a brand new season.
