76ers Owner Michael Rubin Named In Brain Trauma Suit

A woman is suing a property company owned by Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin after her head was caved in from a chair that fell from his penthouse.  Annabel Sen was walking down the street near Union Square in NYC on Jan. 25 when “a heavy wooden lounge chair” fell from a penthouse above and hit her, according to PEOPLE.

Sen suffered a “severe traumatic brain injury” which led to her having emergency surgery.

Sen’s lawyer, Benedict, Morelli, said of the event, “For days in advance, they were talking about how windy it was going to be and what heavy rain it was going to be.”

He continued, insinuating the furniture’s owner had acted inconsiderately, “That furniture should have been inside to begin with, and if not, it should have been tied down very securely.”

The penthouse belongs to a holding company owned by New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin. He was not living there at the time.

The holding company, penthouse owner and building management are all named in the lawsuit.
