Texans Reasoning For Firing David Culley Revealed

The Houston Texans were massively trashed on Thursday after it was announced that they were firing head coach David Culley after just one year on the job.

For fans and members of the media, it seemed clear that Houston put Culley in an impossible position to succeed, and never gave him much of a chance on the job.

After the dust settled, it has been reported that the Texans fired David Culley due to “philosophical differences”.

“The reason why David Culley is fired, from what I understand, is philosophical differences,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said on NFL Total Access. “In other words, the Houston Texans wanted David Culley to be open to making staff changes, specifically on the offensive side of the ball.”

In his one and only season at the helm, David Culley led the Texans to a 4-13 record. But given his roster situation, organizational dysfunction, and revolving door at the quarterback position, it’s hard to knock him for the job he did.

After all, I think it’s safe to say that Culley’s team fought more than anyone expected them to before the season.

In the end, David Culley found out the hard way that the NFL is a cutthroat business. And some organizations are ran with toxicity.
