Jake Evans had to be stretchered off the ice after being sent flying to the ice and remains in concussion protocol.

When speaking on the incident during media availability on Friday, Scheifele said that he was receiving a lot of hate on social media. But that’s not whats bothering him.

Mark Scheifele would also claim that people have been ‘bullying’ his parents and close family members.

Mark Scheifele would go on to say that he thought the four-game suspension was ‘excessive’.

“My intention on that play is to negate a goal… I don’t go in with the frame of mind of injuring a hockey player,” Scheifele said to reporters.

The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens will face off in Game 2 on Friday night, with both Scheifele and Evans remaining out for the respective teams.

Mark Scheifele will now hope that the Jets can push the series to at least six games, or his season could be over.
