Matt Rhule Responds To Teddy Bridgewater’s Claim About Panthers Practices

It didn’t work out for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in Carolina, and he was traded away to the Denver Broncos where he’ll compete for a starting job for next season. While Bridgewater appears to have landed in a decent spot, he still has some issues with everything that went down in Carolina. Specifically, he does not think Matt Rhule ran practices the way they should be ran.

“I’ll just say this, for Joe Brady’s growth they’ll have to practice different things in different ways,” Bridgewater said of Carolina’s offensive coordinator on the “All Things Covered” CBS Sports podcast via Total pro Sports.

“One of the things we didn’t do much of when I was there, we didn’t practice two-minute drills, we didn’t practice red zone. … We didn’t practice on Fridays, but you walked through the red zone stuff and then Saturday you came out and practiced red zone but you got only 15 live reps.”

When asked about it this week, Rhule opted to take the high road, but he did stand up for the way him and his coaching staff run their practices.

While the Broncos will hope Teddy Bridgewater can find some of the production he had in Minnesota, Carolina will turn to Sam Darnold as their starting quarterback.

Darnold spent the start of his career in New York, where he was utterly disappointing, but he has shown flashes. Maybe Matt Rhule can utilize Darnold a little bit better than Adam Gase could.

He might want to start with trying some two-minute drills at practice.
