Anthony Edwards On New Owner Alex Rodriguez: ‘I Don’t Know Who That Is’

Alex Rodriguez turned a bunch of heads when it was announced that he had a deal in place to become the new owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

A lot of the Timberwolves’ future in reliant on last year’s first overall pick in the NBA Draft, Anthony Edwards. So, Edwards had to know that a question about his new owner was coming soon. However, he didn’t really sound too excited to have A-Rod in the organization. In fact, Edwards claimed that he had no idea who Rodriguez is.

“I don’t know who that is,” Edwards said of Rodriguez. “I know he’s going to be the owner. But I don’t know anything about baseball.”

I don’t know if I’m buying it. Maybe Edwards isn’t the biggest fan of baseball, but Alex Rodriguez’s name is literally everywhere. Not only is he dating pop star Jennifer Lopez, but he seems to find himself in the news all the time.

It is kind of funny to think that whoever the reporter asking the question is thought he was going to get a nice anecdote about Anthony Edwards growing up watching A-Rod, and he got just the opposite.

Nonetheless, Anthony Edwards doesn’t sound like his champing at the bit to get acquainted with his new owner. Seems like it’ll be purely a business relationship.
