Mel Kiper’s Latest Mock Draft Is Turning Heads

NFL mock draft extraordinaire Mel Kiper Jr. was at it again on Tuesday morning.

With the NFL Draft a little over two weeks away, Kiper is ramping up on his research and getting closer to filling out what his mock draft will look like come the day of the draft. Today, he updated his mock draft yet again, and many fans are shocked to see who he has going early.

The biggest surprise here would be Mac Jones actually going #3 to the Niners. A lot of noise has picked up on Jones being taken early, but many still think that San Francisco will take Justin Fields or Trey Lance with their pick.

Not only does Mel Kiper not have Fields going to the 49ers, but he has him dropping all the way to #10, where Bill Belichick and the Patriots end up trading up for the Ohio State star.

Other shockers in Mel Kiper’s top-10 is the Dolphins trading up to #4, but not to draft a quarterback. Sure, Kyle Pitts looks like he’ll be a slam dunk tight end in the league for many years to come, but that would be putting a lot of confidence into Tua Tagovailoa, when he wasn’t too impressive during his first season.
