Tyrann Mathieu Pays Homage To Drew Brees

The Saints lost what may be Drew Brees’ last game to the Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional round. Despite the tough loss, Chiefs Safety Tyrann Mathieu paid a tribute to the great Drew Brees after the game. Mathieu is a New Orleans native and knows how much Brees means to the city. The “honey badger” took to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to Brees, sharing what Brees has meant to him and to the city of New Orleans.

Tyann Mathieu echoed the sentiments of many New Orleans natives and Saints fans. Brees has been a great role model and philanthropist for the city of New Orleans. If Brees has impacted Mathieu, you can’t help but imagine the countless young football players of the next generation that Brees is still impacting today.

Tyrann Mathieu’s tribute was great, however, Drew Brees has not shut the door on returning to playing football for the New Orleans Saints. He answered the question after the game saying that he will take this offseason to evaluate the decision and do what he thinks is in his best interest. The loss was tough, but from a leadership perspective, you can’t ask for much more from a guy who has been the quarterback of the Saints since 2006.
